Buried with Him in Baptism

Quote from Robert Rayburn on baptism:

"The phrase translated "buried with Him by baptism into death" simply means that, in accepting Christ as my great Substitute, who sacrificed Himself for me, I hold a funeral for myself. Some of our Baptist brethren speak as though the atonement were made in the tomb, but the atoning work of Christ was literally finished on the cross, not in the sepulchre."1

Quote from What About Baptism, 1957, p.45.
